What is the Bluetooth qualification requirement for 3.0+HS with regards to 802.11 MAC/PHY? What is the plan for future testing? |
|
At the time of 3.0 + HS adoption, the qualification requirement to claim high speed support including 802.11 MAC/PHY will be to have WiFi certification and to provide evidence of the WiFi certification ID issued by the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) on the Bluetooth Test Declaration Upload (TDU) page of the Qualification Listing Interface (QLI). As such, testing requirements are not governed by the Core TCRL-2009-1 dated 21 April 2009.
In the future, the Bluetooth SIG will provide its own 802.11 MAC/PHY test coverage by adding test cases to the Test Case Reference List (TCRL). These new MAC/PHY tests are in development and planned to be added to the next TCRL maintenance release in 2009. When the Bluetooth SIG 802.11 MAC/PHY test coverage is completed, members will then be able to either utilize these tests in order to claim compliance to the 802.11 MAC/PHY or enter a WiFi certification ID as described above.
